DV Capture Card: RT2000 Or DV500 ?

Hi all
I want to purchase a DV capture card, either Matrox RT2000 or Pinnacle DV500. What do you suggest? And why?

Have you noticed the price drop of the Pinnacle DC1000 ??

It's now almost as 'cheap' as the RT2000, includes DV I/O option and works in 4:2:2 space.

There's also a bunch of professionals offering support over at http://www.dc1000.net/

In many respects both the Pinnacle DV500 and Matrox RT2000 are very similar. They both use Adobe Premiere 5.1. They both have DV and analogue in / out. They both come with breakout boxes, DVD / CD authoring software.
Where they differ is that the RT2000 can do real-time 3D transitions and effects. Things like page curls and picture in picture. The DV500 can do these too but they need to be rendered. And picture in picture is more difficult with the DV500.
The RT2000 comes with it's own graphics adapter which you have to use. Also it will be getting a special effects pack update later this year giving fully keyframable tranisitions and picture in picture effects currently only available on the Matrox DigiSuite.

They're both excellent cards, it depends on whether or not you'd use the extra features of the RT2000 to justify paying a bit extra.
